I spoke to my mom this morning and she guided me through a live video tour of my last look at 717. Everything left is designated for the sale, the house is emptied out and everyone is living elsewhere. I drove her crazy by asking if she could fit one, two three etc last things into the trailer. Sadly, the dining room table was out of the question. Not only would it not fit in the trailer, it wouldn't fit in our house. It was so hard to see everything left and realize it would be out of our family forever. It will be even harder when the house actually sells.
Here is the beautiful woodwork on the table legs
Last month I visited 717 one last time. I am so very glad I did. Here are a few photos from that visit. I wish I would have taken more, but I am glad I took the time to capture these:
Grandpa's boy scout things. I was very resistant to selling these items, they are such a piece of our history! I think my cousins got them, or at least that is what I am going to believe.
The last trunk to go through. Full of things from the 1890's.
